About Us
At SMN Investments, we are driven by the belief that inward investment and the creation of sustainable job opportunities are vital not only for economic growth but also for promoting peace and stability in our country. Our chairman, Sayed Saadat Mansoor Naderi, eloquently states, “Investment and job creation are powerful tools to reduce violence and foster peace in war-torn countries like Afghanistan. With over 60% of our population comprised of young men and women under the age of 25, it is crucial to pave the way for employment opportunities to prevent their involvement in conflict.”
With this vision in mind, SMN partners with clients across various economic sectors, forming strong strategic alliances with select multinationals, key local enterprises, and the Afghan government. Our goal is to drive investment, reinvestment, and ultimately foster sustainable growth. With a team of over 2,500 dedicated professionals, we proudly stand as one of the largest companies in the country.
Our diverse range of activities includes pioneering the insurance industry in Afghanistan, being the sole fully licensed private insurance company in the country. Additionally, we excel in delivering fuel to both the private and public sectors, with a robust fleet of tankers serving over 1,500 locations across all provinces. Furthermore, we have successfully established and expanded Finest Superstores, hypermarkets that cater to multinational corporations and embassies, offering consumables throughout the country.
Operating in the mining sector is another vital aspect of our portfolio, including our significant gold mining project located in Northern Afghanistan. Moreover, we take pride in being the largest distributor of telecom services in the country, as well as our involvement in infrastructure development projects such as building roads, airports, and military camps. Lastly, our manufacturing operations skilfully process liquorice into pharmaceutical products, contributing to the healthcare sector.
Our commitment to excellence, strategic partnerships, and a deep understanding of Afghanistan’s economic landscape positions us as a trusted leader in driving investment, creating job opportunities, and fostering sustainable growth. With each venture, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of the Afghan people while contributing to the nation’s progress.

Proud to have received a Peace Through Commerce award
The International Trade Administration’s Peace Through Commerce medal recognises individuals and organisations which have played a crucial and proactive role in increasing trade and strengthening their countries’ overall relations.
The award dates back to the first US Secretary of State, Thomas Jefferson, who commissioned the medal in 1790.
Worldwide, just eight awards were made by the United States Department of Commerce in 2012. SMN was the first Afghan corporation to win any such award, and one of only two private companies on the list.
